Sep 8, 2015 Let's debat. First of all, i have to say that i like Young Thug music. In my opinion he's a brilliant artist. The way he rap is really innovative, i would even say visionary. Yea. His rap-singing is beautiful and that's the main reason why i start to become a fan of this man's work (this and the fact he has really funny lines/good wordplays plus great productions). But there's one thing that prevent me to consider him to be the absolute best (like lot of people does on this forum) and the problem is that he talks a lot about b------s, n----s and money (ok not only but it's an important part of his art). And for me to call a rapper the new GOAT i need him to transmit a real message, something intelligent, something "adult" through his lyrics and i don't feel it's the case with Young Thug. With that being said, i only heard like 10% of his HUGE catalogue so i may be wrong (and maybe there's some subtleties i didn't get, english is not my first language after all). So in your opinion, is he a mature artist? Imma ask the specialists, @Narsh @6ixgawd @WPG and all the thugger's fans
Sep 8, 2015 "i am...the black kid worried are my folks" "but i ain't never been in love, i don't know how pain feel" there's nothing about thug's music that lacks thought or substance. you need to listen better.
Sep 8, 2015 "i wont be your pet no counseling, imma make it work" "im a big ol blood in a lil nation" "in a house full of grown folk, you my bread & butter you can still be my all even if the Feds destroy us" "and im real right like a poet i look like a dope boy, i know it" "i look down on drive bys" "rip mike brown f--- the cops" "i never made love"
Sep 8, 2015 He does use those words but the way he uses them is usually creative. Analogies and double meanings are in a lot of his songs.
Sep 10, 2015 Ok but even if he has some of these type of lines, is his message as a whole really mature? I re-watch some of his videos yesterday and few "images" are really lamentable, for example the way he counts his money on "Check" or when he pees on it on "With That" (at 1:03)
Sep 10, 2015 Oh I forgot mature artists don't have a sense of humor good point Also, he's just pouring his drink on the money
