    man the weirdest s--- happened yesterday

    my new roommate for the last 3 weeks or so is already very acquainted with thug cuz i play him so much, and he comes from 0 bias since he isnt into the scene like that at all (he still listens to like early 2000s alt rock and like eminem lol, but hes open minded) and he was SURPRISED when i said people have a hard time understanding thug...

    he said all he's been able to do since i showed him thug is quote the dude and keep catching new lyrics. he cant get best friend out of his head lol. or BREATHEE EASY from quaterback.

    a lot of you are way more biased than you realize, and bias or preconceived notions are extremely powerful

    because the first thing you think when you see him isnt "omg he's not like me, fa----!!!" like a majority of americans

    it really is that simple. people are insecure

    Hey I dunno what it is, but if i had to guess it's just because I haven't listened to him much. i have like 4 or 5 songs downloaded lol. Thinking about it more I think i'm just lazy and dismissive, I don't understand what he's saying on some songs, so i don't bother expanding into his music? it's not bias or anything on my part, just laziness.

    This thread isnt really a shot at you because i dont know you, but the people id o know who dont like thug are EXTREMELY insecure/homophobic in general. so they have a bias that prevents them for ever taking the dude seriously. its some sort of superiority complex.

    like, i could show them thug rapping about loving his mom, still living with her and his sisters, raising 6 kids...and they'll think "wow what a coon w/ 6 kids at 24"

    you know what i mean?

    it doesnt even have to do with the music, but it effects the listening experience

    'Not Understanding' just seems to be a generic way to dismiss Future, Young Thug, RHQ etc.

    Yeah nah i totally see that too. It's something that has been going on for a while kinda like the "real hip-hop trend" like when Drake got big in Aus, it was just constant "he's a s--- rapper, wtf are emotions lol what a fa----" It's not as bad, but I knew Thugg would be a magnet for that sorta mentality. pretty sure when I heard thugg's check/lifestyle on radio in the same week, i also saw like 100 memes along the lines of thugg being gay/a woman/not understandable at all on facebook. Just watching Thug's career makes me think that Eminem coming out of the closet would be the most hilarious thing of all time.

    The dumbest part about it though is that these people who go on and f---ing on about how bad thug is, talk about him and say his name more than any Young Thug fan. The same goes on for Drake/kanye/Justin Beiber/Miley/Nicki etc etc. The only time you'll catch me talking about artists I don't like, is if it's a post on here or if i'm tryna rustle some jimmies

    I don't find it weird that people don't like their 'mumbling' delivery (I don't always like it either) but it's not a reason to dismiss their talent/great music.

    Btw @Narsh I always said proud of me will be my fave YT song but 'that's all' is getting really close.. had that on repeat this afternoon >>>
