Dec 11, 2015 I don't listen to a lot of Kanye. I've heard yeezus, mbdtf, college dropout, and some other s--- from across his discography. I thought yeezus was trash. Overhyped pseudo-experiemental, in-cohesive, pseudo-intellecutal, borderline r-----ed trash. I thought mbdtf had some excellent production, very theatric, dramatized, big music coupled with incohesive, inconsistent writing and weak lyrics (bar the standout verse of the entire album - Nicki's). College dropout was cool when I heard it in like 2005. Looking back, s--- is overrated. It is an above average album, with a sound contrasting with the whole 50 Cent, G-Unit, Aftermath harder urban sound at the time. In all three albums, he tries too hard. I am losing faith. I need someone to reassure me that Kanye is really worthy of the status and titles people give him. What is his undeniable greatest song? What should I listen to by him that will redeem my confidence?
Dec 11, 2015 Hmmmm. Honestly I think just stop trying, you wont like him. go and listen to 50 cent/game/eminem/Dre/Yelawolf you'll like them.
Dec 11, 2015 As far as hip-hop I goes I listen to the following: Nas Big L Naughty By Nature Dr. Dre Eminem Wu-tang Biggie Pac Snoop (doggystyle is goat) The Firm (foxy brown got bars, standout verses, fire.) Lil Kim (fire. but her last mixtape/album was trash) Lil Debbie (yes.) Lil B Weezy (fire. usually) Cunninlynguists (fire.) SZA (fire.) Immortal Technique (f--- this n-----, takes too long to put out middle passage) Dr. Octagon (not that good) Aesop Rock ASAP Mob (Rocky, Ferg, Nasty, etc.) Action Bronson (I don't see a lot of longevity in his rapping style) Yelawolf (fire.) Chance tha rapper (f---ing terrible music) Kendrick Lamar (overrated as f---) J Cole. (overrated as f---ing s---, jesus christ) Snow tha Product (stop rapping fast about parties, give me stories ffs) D12 (only devil's night, the rest is f---ing terrible, besides those gem eminem verses on the Underground EP) Mac Miller Tribe called quest Westside Connection (fire.) Ice Cube NWA Xzibit Vince Staples (average as f---) Tyler the Creator Earl Sweatshirt (b---- made n-----) Tech N9ne (half the time his lines make zero literary sense, garbage) Flatbush Zombies (average.) Death Grips (not hip-hop but still fire.) Lauren Hill MC Lyte Fat Joe LL Cool J Public Enemy (a takes a nation of millions....fire.) Mobb Deep Slaughterhouse (inconsistent, generally terrible songs.) Prhyme (fire.) Joey Badass (overrated, borderline average) Jay Rock Ab-Soul (overrated, trash) School Boy Q (fire.) Outkast T.I. Big Pun (capital punishment, fire.) Childish Gambino Hieroglyphics Kanye West (losing faith, borderline average music) Drake (terrible content. Cartoon, popcorn music) Future (catchy garbage) Nicki Minaj Meek Mill (stupid loud n-----) Kobe Bryant (fire.) Sadistik etc. All i'm asking for is one or two songs that are so good, they can restore my faith in Kanye. Edit: f--- hopsin, and @Flacko wiz is terrible. Proper stoned music comes from other hidden genres.
Dec 23, 2015 >Vince Staples (average as f---) Gone >Joey Badass (overrated, borderline average) there's no hope for op hes a straight f---ing dumbass
Dec 24, 2015 If College Dropout didn't wow you then don't bother with Late Registration cause it's pretty much in the same relm. I'd say give Graduation a try as something a little different in Kanye's Discography. After that it's a no deal if you don't like College Dropout and MBDTF. You're prob just not a Kanye fan.... But find out if you're a fan of him as a producer and listen to The Blueprint (Jay-Z) if you haven't already.
