Jan 5, 2016 Basically.. I was born with a heart condition called Dextrocardia Situs inverse http://rarediseases.org/rare-diseases/dextrocardia-with-situs-inversus/ My heart is located on the right hand side of my body instead of left and when I was born I had a hole in my heart so the Drs had to move some s--- around and close it. This caused my Pulmonary heart valve to get loose or something. Usually the valve around the heart for someone like me only lasts around 10-15 years but im 21 and it's going strong. Recently the hospital noticed that my heart had enlarged(swollen) and that I may need the band removed to ensure that my heart doesnt go crazy and goes back down to normal size. Like I am above-average in terms of athletics but now Im kinda scared to work out ect just incase something happens. I've been told to not go to the gym and use weights just incase i strain my heart. The doctors had recently told me that Im going to be booked in sometime in the next 3 months for this operation and I am actually shi--ing myself rn. I dont want to tell people irl (my mom ect) about my fear because I dont want them to feel worried for me so I decided to create this thread. Has anyone here gone through a major op and what was your thought process before it and what can I do to feel better? @NewNigs
