On a side note Stand Up Guy isn't really that bad is it? I had debates with a friend before. He said the song is s--- but I think it's got a good a--- beat to it.

EDIT: I remember walking into HMV and seeing the album like whoa T.I. released a new one? Picked it up with no idea aside from What You Know.

Solid album though, my favourite T.I. album.

I love Stand Up Guy, just like Ride With Me. Especially the production on those.

Great read wpg, 'what you know' remains one of the best commercial rap songs of all time.

T.I. came here not too long ago. I wasn't sure if I should go but went and checked it out. That guy has singles for days. Nostalgia definitely kicked in. He even stopped and said "s--- I got so many hits I can go all night" he wasn't lying either. Was very entertaining live to.

A nerdy white guy who thinks he is a know it all about urban culture is equally if not more boring. You take writing jobs away from people who actually are from the culture. White hipsters like yourself are ruining urban music buy pushing what you guys think people should and shouldn't like. Nothing like viewing urban culture from your safe suburban neighborhood. If not suburban then I reckon its a gentrification section of a urban city

Still remember going to the store and picking this up, this will always be one of my favorite albums. Whether or not at the time you agreed or disagreed he was the King Of The South he sure as h--- sounded like he was on the album. Gonna read that piece in a bit.

Negative on everything you said. Come on, who would actually believe you live in the hood? You still have never answered what makes you so qualified about urban music? What makes you more qualified than people actually from the environment?

Paper Trail has some phenomenal songs, but it's much more uneven. it's definitely these two and Trap Muzik for me.

i've actually gone into great detail about all of this, both here and on sl. i've talked about the dearth of black writers at certain publications and how that can and should be addressed. i've talked extensively about the role of white (and broadly, non-black) critics should be. and each time you refuse to actually engage any of my points and fall back on sweeping bs. i don't have the patience for you anymore, especially if you're going to start trying to, like, drag my girlfriend into it? that's creepy and unwarranted. go back to spewing neo-con bs in the politics section.
