Jul 14, 2024 renaissance is king matther leftover? habits is mtbmb side 2 brand new dance is encore antichrist is king matter leftover. save me is clearly revival. a lot of old tracks have been repacked for this album(this is just on top of my head),not sure what to think of it. how do you guys feel about it?
Jul 14, 2024 Besides ‘Brand New Dance’ as it was the scrapped Christopher reeves song which he mentions on the album, I’d say no. He just used old flows and used AI to change his voice based on the era. Also Antichrist sound like a D12 song for the most part
Jul 14, 2024 I agree. Save me is definitely revival era left over with a jelly roll hook slapped onto it. The Christopher reeves song. Temporary sounds old as well and in the same vain as revival. Tobey was a Big Sean left over. Evil and Antichrist are both hard for me to listen to all the way through with the modern flow thrown into the verses…Just takes away from the listening experience and ruins them. Wouldn’t be surprised if he pulled both of those out the vault as well and just re-recorded and added content to it. After four years I was expecting an Okish album. But this is way below his last two albums quality wise. People always Stan out at first. But as the weeks pass and the replay value starts to show itself I think opinions will change. I have no desire to revisit this after two listens. I wasn’t in love with MTBMB but that album is waaaaay f---ing better than this is.
Jul 14, 2024 ye it sounds like he took many old unfinished recordings and mashed it all up together...still hoping we get king matters one day.
Jul 14, 2024 I don't necessarily think Antichrist's beat was made in the Recovery era, but the vocals at 2:00 were most definitely pulled from a Recovery demo (the flow, the screaming, the content of it is similar to what he rapped about in that era, and it even sounds like the same vocal processing chain and reverb). Renaissance sounds like a mix of older Em. Not all of these examples are outtakes. Some sound like vocals that were pulled from older demos and put on newer beats. Renaissance has 2-3 different different vocals: 0 to 0:28 sounds like 2003? His voice has deepened a bit since Eminem Show, but he still has the fast flow he had before he got deep into his addiction. Somewhere between 30-60 seconds, its his current voice with FX. I'm not sure exactly where but his flow changes. Renaissance sounds like a 2003 vocal demo but with new vocals added (With Brand New Dance is an Encore outtake. Temporary and Somebody Save Me are Revival outtakes. Tobey. The mixing on vocals sounds very similar to Higher (MTBMB pt II era). Not sure if he recorded that at the same time, or he just happens to be using the same mic/studio and fx plugins as the Higher recording session.
Jul 14, 2024 Where the h--- did you get the idea that half of these are even... Where's the proof habits is from side b Antichrist... king mathers? What planet you on lol. The rapping is a whole new level and sounds new. Why would you think king mathers how weird.
Jul 14, 2024 Holy h--- the stupidity is back.. The s--- you idiots make up in ur heads is mind boggling
Jul 15, 2024 Listen to 2:00 to 2:20 of Antichrist. And tell me that part is not a Recovery or Bad Meets Evil outtake.
Jul 15, 2024 He def used left-overs and either re-recorded them (with AI help to match better) or fully ... it does feel like he tried to pluck tracks from almost all era's of eminem. That is why i keep saying this is al album for long-time fans. I'm not mad at it, but it's obvious. The tracks that are new though, are f---ing fire (i.e. fuel). save me is 100% revival ... i dont even know why he added this song, its basically the same thing he said on revival. still love the album, but no denying he revisited old tracks for inspiration and ended up using them to fit the theme as it took shape.
Jul 15, 2024 My guess is that the song was originally made for Revival. But then he added new recently. The instrumentals and mixing sound the same as Revival. It's the same FX chains and everything. Just re-recorded vocals.
Jul 15, 2024 That part on Antichrist isn't an old vocal. He's just intentionally imitating that old style. The vocal chain seems intentional too. Its more of a 2011/2012 style. Similar to his "Fame" verse with D12. The AntiChrist hook is old. Likely Encore era. Renaissance is an old vocal from late 2003 up until the 0:28 mark. The rest is modern Em with an AI voice module.
Jul 15, 2024 It sounds like Survival and So Much Better. I'm pretty sure he took it from an MMLP2 leftover because he liked it for some reason. It's not his current voice or delivery at all, nor an imitation. The rest of your post though is Stanley's Cuts approved.
Jul 15, 2024 Yeah I agree Kendrick's album didn't have any bangers in 2007 and might delete later wasn't that good either.
Jul 15, 2024 I find it hard to believe he would just take a random take from a different song and put it on a song for his album. Not really a "rapper" thing to do, especially someone like Eminem. He may have already recorded a song to AntiChrist though for MMLP2(considering it has older origins) , and decided to keep just that bit for whatever reason, which is more believable. I'm sticking with my theory that its nothing more than a nod to that style though.
Jul 15, 2024 It's no less believable than that he would randomly imitate an older style from a random era. I don't hear any other MMLP2/Recovery/HTS imitations on the album (I've speculated that the Evil hook could be an MMLP2 leftover, but if not there's no reason to think it's an imitation either). Whatever the case it sticks out like @attila's lost thumb. Everything about it is totally random and out of place, including the lyrics. Try listening to bits of So Much Better / Survival and then that part and it should be clear the simpler theory is that it's a leftover.
