    This album always got mixed feedback but it was either one extreme or the other, it was either horrible or classic. When it first came out I immediately disregarded it, I though Wayne's voice was annoying, I hated the absurd lyrics (which I grew to appreciate a little more now) and was overall disappointed after Carter II expectations. Some time later I've bumped it now and then and really liked it but never really considered it great or anything, just an enjoyable album.

    Now, when I was in the middle of S4TW 2 I kind of lost interest and had an urge to download and listen to C3 and I'm really loving it after not listening to it for a few years.

    Thoughts? Overrated? Classic? Somewhere in between?

    It was good, but definitely overrated in my view.. still one of best albums of 2008.

    It's a good album - but there are so many inconsistencies for me to call it a classic. C2 >>>>

    It's a fun, poppy album, and there's nothing wrong with that.

    It's been said many times, but the original Carter III with all the leaked tracks probably would have been a classic.

    I put C3 in the same vein as Country Grammar & No Way Out as in they conceptually aren't the best albums but are very enjoyable and for whatever reason I keep coming back to them. Personal classics in other words.

    debatable as a classic

    universal acclaim

    displays wayne's all around skills as an artist

    3 peat, Dr Carter, Tie My Hands, Lollipop, Misunderstood, Mrs Officer......s--- the whole album>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    I always disliked Mrs Officer and still do, partially because of Kidd Kidd but also since I love Tell Me and had those kind of expectation

    Not even close... Tha Carter II is his best album, Part 3 is just more "mainstream"

    Carter II and III both classics. Wayne has a couple of classic mixtape and guest appearances but his catalogue is 90% garbage unfortunately.

    carter iii was the first time i really listened to wayne. i didnt know how to download albums back then but i downloaded a milli from limewire played it all the time that year

    What's the consensus here on C3? Classic? Or were all the best tracks leaked? How often do you go back to it?
