This is a week away and feel there is 0 hype. Maybe 2 or 3 years ago it would have been received better.

What do you mean there's zero hype? Practically everyone who watched UFC has been anticipating Silva's return. Just wait till the 31st. Go to any local sports bar and I'm sure it will be packed as h---.

I guess not much promo. There was a ton for McGregor's fight. But not much has occurred for Silva. I'm pumped for it but it's a card that's kind of just came. It was announced many months ago but now almost here and there seems it hasn't gotten much coverage. I could be wrong or living under a rock though... I have been pretty busy the last couple months lol.

I'm totally divorced from the UFC media coverage (I'm surprised that I even watch), but just the people I talk to seem excited. I had a bar night planned a month ago for this.

I see tons of promos for it on TV and people I know that aren't really hardcore fans have talked about how excited they are to watch Silva return

Theres a lot of promos on TV, but when you get back to back to back weekends with consecutive events its tough to promote the shows. Hopefully they learn from the McGregor show when they had a couple weeks to straight promote that card after UFC 182.

Very true redsoxx. The last little while has been completely SATURATED with UFC. More than dry onion pieces sucking up water. 2 events at most a month would be good imo.

I love that promo. It's like a trailer for a movie/game you're really anticipating and at the very last second, they show you just a little snippet of the villain/boss that you really love.

The UFC has really stepped they're promo game up in the last half-year or so. More original posters from time to time, trailers that go beyond Joe Rogan screaming "ooooh" after a knockout reel, and some gems like this:

Holy crap... that's so many events :O

I started watching in 2009. I can imagine those who watched in the 90's when it was like 1 event a year lol.

I started watching in 2008, there's definitely a whole lot more to keep up with now than there was then. I try and watch at least the main card of most cards, but if it's an event that takes place at like 3 AM I usually just say screw it and rely on gifs lol

I understand the sport and such, but not hardcore. I'll watch the main cards only and if they interest me. The PPV's I mostly see with friends but not the prelims really.

This is one of those fights i HATE watching. Anderson silva and Nick Diaz are 2 of my favorite fighters so i don't like seeing either of them losing. I think i want Diaz to win only cause Silva is already the GOAT and a win for Diaz means more for him.

Doesnt feel the same as your normal Anderson fights now that the invincible aura he used to carry is gone. He should run through Nick but is it worth it? not if you wanna see Nick fight again.

I just hope Anderson doesnt get a title shot after this and instead fights a guy like Mousasi or Bisping after he does TUF Brazil 2.

As for all the events, i like it. I dont need to stay in to watch these events, i can watch them Sunday morning when i wake up hung over. Even the worst UFC cards have a couple very good fights and then upcoming prospects/exciting match ups. The other day everyone was like "I only care about the Gus/Rumble fight" and then the card kicked a--- from top to bottom. What i was saying is that a lot of events bunched together hurts the UFC's ability to promote those shows, but that doesnt effect me at all. I guess im just a big MMA fan because i watch all the Bellator and WSOF shows as well, which dont touch the UFC's worst shows.

Hard to build up new contenders unless you put on a bunch of shows to weed those guys out.
