Aug 1, 2016 Yea kinda weird placement as its probably the most relevant fight on the card. Then again the UFC has been putting big fights on FP for a while now. They just announced Magny vs Larkin would headline the 202 FP Prelims. Anyways hopefully Cub wins and then Pettis beats Oliveira in Vancouver and then they make Cub vs Pettis.
Aug 5, 2016 Yair Rodriguez (-300) vs Alex Caceres (+250) Battle of two flashy strikers, Yair is wild as f--- and i see that eventually catching up to him when he faces better grapplers. This fight is perfect for him though as he doesn't have to worry about Bruce Leroy's top game at all. I predict at 2nd round TKO for Yair, probably by some "spinning s---" or something flashy. Anyways someone on reddit compiled all Yair's flashy strikes Caceres' double punch just because Dennis Bermudez (-245) vs Rony Jason (+205) Bermudez tends to smother guys with his wrestling a lot and recently noted after the Stephens fight that he intends to fight "smarter" (AKA boring, like the Kawajiri fight). I don't know that he wants to play around in Rony Jason's guard though, dude is slick as f--- and also has heavy hands. My guess is Dennis wrestles anyways and takes a decision, hopefully its exciting but i'm not expecting much. The finishing touches of Bermudez ending the Hettes hype train for good, what an all-time beat down that was. Rony Jason's triangle-armbar combo win over Damon Jackson Thales Leites (-160) vs Chris Camozzi (+140) Leites has seemed to have forgotten that he's a BJJ black belt, maybe the back to back losses to Bisping and Mousasi will have reminded him. Camozzi has looked great in his return to the UFC, striking has looked crisp as f--- and has great cardio. Leites will lose if he stands and trades but i have to believe hes smarter then that and takes Camozzi down and wins either by decision or late submission. Leites sends Francis Carmont to Bellator/LHW Camozzi breaks Joe Riggs' forearm with brutal knees Santiago Ponzinibbio (-155) vs Zak Cummings (+135) Similar to the Leites/Camozzi fight this is a striker vs grappler match up (or should be). Cummings wrestled in Junior College and has the majority of his wins by submission, but like Leites has started to fall in love with his striking (usually happens after a big KO). He is NOT gonna want to stand with this guy though, Ponz is a savage on the feet and one of my under-the-radar favorite WW's to watch because his fight always deliver. Im gonna take Ponz by 1st round TKO,not confident in that as Cummings is a tough MF and could potentially grind this one out. Ponz most recent win over Court McGee in April vs Stahi vs Oliveira Cummings vs Dominique Steele Joe Gigliotti (-140) vs Trevor Smith (+120) Gigliotti is a hyped prospect coming out of RFA and Smith is a journeyman. Don't have much on this fight but from what I've seen of Joe im taking him by TKO. Maryna Moroz (-270) vs Danielle Taylor (+230) Moroz was supposed to fight Justine Kish, which would have been a lot more interesting but i think she had visa issues. Don't know anything about Taylor other then she got HL reel KO'd by Jamie Colleen (she avenged that loss in her last fight by 5th round TKO though), but she seems to have heavy hands and Moroz is very hittable. I think Moroz will want to and will get this one to the ground and submit Taylor by Armbar. Court McGee (-225) vs Dominique Steele (+185) Battle of the grinders. Court McGee has cardio for days and Steele seems to be lacking a bit in that area which i think will be the difference in the fight. Think Steele comes out strong and McGee ends up taking the last 2 rounds. Both of their wrestling could cancel each other out and we might get a sloppy stand up fight. Anyways Court by decision. Steele's slam/headbutt/elbows KO of Dong Hyun Kim (the bad one, not Stun Gun) Marcin Tybura (-140) vs Viktor Pesta (+120) Tybura was being hyped as a potential top 10 guy coming into the UFC, but he looked awful against Tim Johnson. Just shows you how bad the HW competition is outside of the UFC. Anyways Pesta impressed me early in the Derrick Lewis fight, despite eventually getting smashed in the later rounds. I'm gonna take him by decision, guess we'll see if Tybura's first performance was the "UFC jitters". David Teymur (-150) vs Jason Novelli (+130) Teymur is one of the only keepers from the McGregor/Faber TUF season. Heavy handed and has good leg kicks from what i remember. Don't know a whole lot about Novelli other then he has a loss to Ben Fodor recently and hes a scrub. So I'll take Teymur by decision. Teymur's uppercut TKO over Martin Svensson Also Teymur's broken English during the McGregor/Garbrandt scufffle on TUF Teruto Ishihara (-245) vs Horacio Gutierrez (+205) Two explosive strikers who wing punches, could be a FOTN candidate while it lasts but i see Ishihara catching Gutierrez eventually as his defense doesn't exist. Think Ishihara by 2nd round TKO Ishihara vs Julian Erosa at UFC 196 Cub Swanson (-325) vs Tatsuya Kawajiri (+265) Cub has been one of my favorites since the early WEC days, guy is always looking for the KO. Kawajiri is a vet but hes 38 and in the lower weight classes that is old AF. I think Cub stops him in the 1st with strikes. Cub vs George Roop vs Ross Pearson makes Charles Oliveira call it a day Stops Dennis Siver Justin Ledet (-135) vs Chase Sherman (+105) Two debuting HW's in their mid-twenties. Don't know much about either, Ledet recently stepped away from MMA for 4 years to pursue a boxing career (went 5-0) but 3 of his wins come by submission. Sherman is new to the sport but has fought 10 times since 2010. Guess i'll take Ledet as he seems more well rounded + has the boxing background.

Aug 6, 2016 Hes a good punching bag I'll give him that. I dunno why they put HW fights on these fight cards at altitude
Aug 6, 2016 what happened? missed that fight some weird a--- post fight interviews tonight, jesus christ
Aug 6, 2016 Sherman acted like a b---- because Ledet wouldn't brawl with him. And in the post fight interview Ledet basically called Sherman and his team amateurs for flying in on Tuesday and not getting acclimated to the altitude.
Aug 6, 2016 There was an M-1 card a while back where a dude spit his mouthpiece out during a choke and the ref broke them up to put it back in.
