Jan 17, 2015 As @Koolo stated, the working title of the new Eminem album is "Roots". What would you like him to improve on this album? What topics would you want him to talk about? Do you think he'll give up the choppy flow?
Jan 17, 2015 recovery not because i want him to...but because its the only direction he can still be decent with right now
Jan 17, 2015 Y'all are thinking within the confines of Eminems limitations, just like him. I want him to pull something new out of his hat. I know he bases his flow around the drums so get drum-intensive producers that no one expects. FlyLo. Travi$. El-P. h---, f---ing Pharell could even work. Come out the gate's rapping about how he finally has stopped living in the past and is going forward with his music. Get dope lyricists that instead of sounding like Eminem copycats sound original, like Earl Sweatshirt. h---, both Lupe and Joey are poppin right now they'd work great. I want Eminem to quit being the old guy who is living off of past accomplishments and start actually accomplishing s--- again.
Jan 17, 2015 Not even gonna lie... I'd like to see how a Pharell collab would turn out. he's done such a wide variety of genres and styles in his career, it'd be interesting.
Jan 17, 2015 Would be more excited to see him rap on a FlyLo best or have someone like Joey as a feature
Jan 17, 2015 i'm not lying when i say i would rather listen to any of these joints than a recent eminem song:
Jan 17, 2015 So many things he could talk about. So many things he COULDVE talked about on MMLP2. All I want from the next album is something more serious not Cinderella Man serious more like GTC serious and maybe a few funny songs like Evil Twin or Baby 4 tops. If he was to get personal just think about all the s--- he could talk about that's happened in his career and what's been going on lately.
Jan 17, 2015 I would like to see him work with the Bass Brothers or if that wasn't possible Emile & try an make a cohesive album with serious concepts & idea's. Not have any funny/joke songs. I don't think he has the wit to pull off Slim Shady type songs anymore.
Jan 17, 2015 I think 'he talks about the same thing' is a dumb thing to say. Most rappers talk about the same s--- all the time, even the best. Who cares as long as the songs are good, it's all about execution imo. I don't care what he raps about on his next album, it just has to be good. Having Xzibit and Dre involved makes me kind of excited, rather have them than Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf. But as for the direction, he needs to quit trying to recreate his older music and move on to something new, like he did on Recovery. Mmlp2 was a good album and Fine Line is a great song too but the guy used to be exciting and now he mostly makes safe music, he should be a little more experimental (in a good way ofc)
Jan 17, 2015 Agree with this for most part but Recovery is as safe as safe gets. All the concepts in that album are extremely generic and have been done before. After two failed albums in Encore and Relapse, it's no conincidence that a generic pop/rap album in Recovery followed.
Jan 17, 2015 Looks like I'm alone in hoping its not like Recovery. I'll take double time off beat flows over yelling and corny punchlines any day. If it were up to me, then I'd take Relapse flow/beat selection MMLP2 lyricism Shady XV wit (as well as being current) And a handful of songs with Recovery/GoF type subject matter
Jan 17, 2015 I didn't mean that Recovery wasn't safe, just that he tried something new instead of trying to recreate his prime. I also think it was safe, but he did listen to his fans and worked with different people. Rather have a decent generic pop album than a s--- album though, even if MMLP2 is still my favourite since 8 mile (close with Rec) @BadGuy I'm not saying I want another Recovery, but him trying something new, for him at least
Jan 17, 2015 I would love some sort of lashing out at the label (especially since this is probably his last solo effort). All of his albums since his comeback have had some great songs. I'd love an album full of Deja Vus, GTCs, and Fine Lines. Throw a few story tellers in there with some Dre production... A Space Bound for pop appeal... I'd be happy with that. Execution is key. Gotta tune up the flow too... Recovery and Relapse flowed well (minus the accent + yelling) to the beats he rapped over.
Jan 17, 2015 if he would realize that a Not Afraid 2 would be just as bad as a We Made You 2 we might be on the right track, but he's obviously not there
Jan 17, 2015 A 2015 Eminem album. No re-creations, no trying to re-kindle s---. Just forward thinking and progression subject matter wise and production wise. He's really close to coming with a breakthrough, he has all the pieces, theyre just not in the right place. Another thing, screw that whole country / pop / rock / rap s---. Get on today's wavelength man. I saw hints of progression on Shady XV as far as the production. I heard certain sounds and Eminems interaction with them.. if he really dug into the meat of it and got into today's style he'd be outstanding. Not saying I wouldn't like textbook Eminem because for example, Fine Line could've f---in been on Encore or The Re-Up. It was his style all the way down to the production. However he also needs to step out of his comfort zone and stop trying to make stadium rap and use the sound that appeals to today's mold.
Jan 17, 2015 I agree with most of this, but it all depends on what sound he uses that appeals to today's mold. I don't know about you, but I don't want an Eminem album full of auto-tuned club bangers...
Jan 17, 2015 At this point in his career, I'd gladly take the "100 Dr. Dre Produced tracks" that were supposedly created for Relapse 2.. In my opinion since his comeback, he's steady been getting worse and worse on a musical level since after Recovery 2010ish... How many songs since those recording sessions top this track?
