Jun 1, 2017 It does bother me that Eminem relied so heavily on drugs to be confident and non awkward from 1999-2005 Forget the flawless and timeless music he made in this time span. His interviews were so good too he spoke clearly in his interviews with conviction he was acting like a normal sociable person. Even embracing his immense popularity in 2002 In 2002 in this same scenario he would sign Proof's son if he felt he had any song writing ability and song making talent and mentor him on choruses, melodies, concepts and flow and say to him u gonna sell platinum minimum and i'm gonna help u. And if he felt he didn't have song writing ability and the star power to sell records he would be upfront with him and tell him but find a back round role for him at Shady records This the same Eminem that in 2002 declined to sign Royce to Shady records when Royce asked him for a record deal on Shady records because Eminem knew Royce wasn't a good song writer, couldn't do choruses, lacked star power, hit making ability and wouldn't be able to sell records. And he was upfront with him and told him straight. And signed 50 cent because he had all these qualities and was very excited about the 50 signing and loved 50's music The same Eminem in 2001 that was dating Mariah Carey The same Eminem in 2001 that was going to TRL and giving his girl fans hugs there I wish he could function and act that confident and normal like he did in that era today with out the drugs I am keen to hear @Koolo, @EminemBase @Spatula views on this
