I remember being in high school and then I accidently found songs from Relapse on youtube. Actually this was the first album of Eminem I ever listened. I believe I've listened to some songs like an obsessed person. To be completely honest I will add I don't know the whole lyrics of many of his songs but they just sound awesome.

Would be interesting to understand when did you become his fan.

No worries. Since you're new here, try to avoid repetition of threads, especially in the Eminem section that is full of repeated ones. The search bar in right corner could be helpful.

First song I've heard was Brain Damage but I was too young to really understand it. I just knew it was some messed up thing unlike normal popular music.

But in 2002. I had a horrible toothache and Without Me video happened to be on TV. The part where he says "Someone comes along on a mission and yells b----" made me laugh and eased my toothatche a little. From then on Eminem has been my primary source of music entertainment.

In 1999 I remember going to my cousins house in New Jersey, and he was like you heard this song my name is by eminem, and I was like nope who is eminem, and then he started telling me about the record, and that same day we was sitting down watching TV and video came on, and being only like 9 I found the song, and video to be hilarious. Now that I think about it I don't think my cousin told me he was white lol. 2002 is when eminem became my favorite rapper, and still can't believe I hated sing for the moment when it came out smh probably the rock beat threw me off. My favorite eminem song

Heard him w the Outsiddaz... then Hi My Name is Video came on MTV and I was like wait what? Why this fool dissing Dre from the Chronic?? Lol. f--- yea! Something to throw in the deck w DMX, Das, Pun, Wu, Keith, Red and so on... was a totally different sound with shock value lyrics.

Best times of my life so far....gotta love music

8 years ago in 5th grade. first song i listened to was My Darling and it was like nothing i ever listened to before so i listened to the entirety of Relapse as a result. it was the first album i ever listened to as a whole and so it was the album that got me not only into eminem but hip-hop as a genre.

As soon as My Name Is came out. Only a casual fan though but my biggest regret is that because I was only a casual fan I didn't know that Em and Dre performed at the Brixton Academy in London. I'm sure that concert wide been f---ing epic.

2002 or 2003, when I was in middle school. I remember hearing Without Me and Lose Yourself on the car radio, and really digging them. My older sister's friend burned me some songs on a CD.

But my first exposure, that I recall, was seeing some of the Stan music video in 2000 when I was 10.

Wouldn't consider you being in elementary school in 99 as old since we probably in the same age group

In 1999, I was 9 at the time. I remember my older step brother getting the SSLP and him playing it on repeat. I remember rock bottom being the one I latched onto the most. Became a huge fan when I got the edited version of TES for my 12th birthday which was the same week the album came out. From there on out I went through and found everything I could on the slow a--- internet/lime wire back then.
