May 14, 2015 I always thought people were stupid as f--- for walking out on movies...until I saw this one Manager was completely cool about it as he had saw it and despised it too, comped us all tickets to Tropic Thunder an hour later even though we weren't 18 yet. Went and smoked a blunt behind the theater and proceeded to laugh harder than I had in a long time. All's well that ends well.
May 14, 2015 Killing Them Softly. Brad Pitt, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta. I went with my grandfather (yikes) because we share a similar interest in gangster films (my all-time favourite being Goodfellas with Liotta) and television series (his all-time favourite being The Sopranos with Gandolfini). Plus Brad Pitt can be an entertaining guy to watch for a few hours. I went in expecting something with stylish and cool, similar in tone to The Departed but with a little more grime, instead I sat through the longest hour and a half of my life. It was so f---ing flat and devoid of life. It was screaming political allegory about things nobody really gave a f--- about. Poorly marketed. str8 bait n switch.
