Sep 4, 2015 Is it weird that I've always preferred h--- On Earth to The Infamous? Both classics either way and two of the greatest records of that era.
Sep 4, 2015 Nah, even Murda Muzik is close. Survival of the Fittest is my favorite song of theirs so I usually pick The Infamous by default. A lot of these were tough. Dylan has a lot of records I could have chosen. Illmatic or The Lost Tapes as well.

Sep 5, 2015 I don't listen to full albums that often tbh.. I mostly listen to songs on shuffle (also because I barely have time). Albums like mbdtf, blueprint and a few other obvious choices would be up there of course but I can't think of a top 25 right now
Sep 5, 2015 This actually sums my list up pretty well, with the exception of In Rainbows being OK Computer. And other albums here and there. Why? Because having your list filled with albums from one of the most inconsistent genres around counts as much? Don't get me wrong, there are strokes of brilliance, and most go unnoticed. But hip hop is filled with some of the most cliché unimaginative albums ever.
Sep 5, 2015 Nice, I took this as "your 25 favourites" and generally I picked some of these based on what I've been listening to during the past months; if it was actually a "top" list, I wouldn't have An Awesome Wave there for example. Most of the threads about music other than rap have flopped, but charliework had an idea of making an ongoing thread about general music, where members post about some of their favourite albums each week or so, it could produce interesting discussion if people are interested. Check it out if you want: https://forum.sectioneighty.com/pick-em-sxn80-members-talk-pop.t41739/ Generally I agree, I mean even rappers who have all the resources they could possibly need just lay their vocals on emailed beats, with no more creativity or input in the whole process. Especially nowadays, the average rapper does much less than the average band. Ofc the very best are actually crazy good (ye / outkast have made great music, doom / biggie / ghost etc are charismatic rappers and / or compelling writers) but I get what you're saying. Still, this is a rap forum and I guess everyone posted his favourites so it's not really that surprising.
