Good read. This album may have aged better than any album I've ever heard. I was really, really disappointed when this dropped but I love it today. Songs that I considered filler like "In My Hood" , "Position of Power" and "Ryder Music" are all songs I consider classics today.

I agree with this 100%, there was times when I flirted with the thought that he may have made a better album than GRODT. Obviously he didn't, but Baltimore Love Thing, In My Hood and I'm Supposed to Die Tonight are all as good as anything on the first album.

This is a late classic to me.

I'm gonna say it now. Curtis does not deserve a 10 year thread when the time comes lmao.

That was a great article. I miss the Aftermath Era from 02-05. They pretty much owned the music industry & some classics were released.

Agree 100% with @Mike Tyson and @M Solo. I was in 8th grade when this came out, but I didn't like it other than a few select songs...maybe it's just because I'm older and understand that, like, A Baltimore Love Thing is about heroin (no way I would have caught that when I was 14), but it's a very solid album. Like I said in the review, there's no song that really stands out as being awful, but if he had shaved like five or so filler songs off of it, it could have been nearly as good as Get Rich or Die Tryin'.

This was very nostalgic great job as usual @BigCountry. I remember when I was looking into Nas' catalogue I was amazed at how it got panned when it came out despite it being a classic-caliber album! Remember getting this album as a gift, this s--- was huge here in NY. Most songs aged very well but I think he tried re-hashing the similar formula of GRODT to less success on this one.

A lot of my favorites (Be, The Documentary, Late Registration) are turning 10 this year :mjcry:

Can you imagine if he kept everything that he gave to Game? Throw in Outta Control Remix and.... you've got a much better album than GRODT imo.

Would love to see 50 & Game reconcile & make some new records. Will not ever happen though.

Yup, even the stuff he was handing out to people like Tony Yayo was great:

50's creative space at the time was something else, I wish he kept all the hand outs for himself to use down the road.

While we're at it GRODT soundtrack had some classic 50 on it as well. What a year.

And to the idiot who said Curtis doesn't need a thread this song alone justifies that thread

BTW I cannot wait until we see 50 and Floyd reunited again walking to the ring together on May 2 @Mike Tyson
