i believe this section deserves my attention now, i wanna build something to help bloom the young artists in here

what do you think is needed, to promote you better?

Creative section needs to be limited to artists with genuine talent... I think. At the moment S80's creative section is no different than any other generic rap forum overcrowded music sharing section.

This might work better if it has a sub-section, like Music has the Album section; let everyone post their content (beats / raps / music / drawing etc), and then the best content / artists get pushed in the other section.

That seems real unfair. To expand on that I think perhaps you could divide the section into sub-sections or categories (novice, intermediate, professional and the like). Also, what one person thinks is trash another may believe is a real treasure. Just look at the views on Young Thug, everyone is very divided on that h--- with it either being you absolutely love him or eternally hate him. Music is subjective not something people can agree on. s---, there are people who hate the Beatles. THE BEATLES!! I think preventing others from flourishing just because you don't like their sound is some bs. Everyone had to start somewhere, don't prevent them from being able to do that here. The people who come here like it here and the people that frequent the forum. Don't blacklist someone because YOU tor even I think they s--- donkey balls. That'll drive people away and I'm 100% certain that isn't what you want. If anything we should encourage the whack folk so that they can be artists we like or maybe even admire one day.

At first, probably. But if more people post their content here, and it has to be truly good to get "promoted" it'll be better than having the whole creative section for 4-5 guys. And it's more fun anyway, it'll be more interactive with the community etc. Also, if I want to f--- around and drop something, I'll still have a place to do it. Not to mention that the guys who have talent and experience will be able to coach the main section better.

I'm actually trying to finish a piece on Cyreides for the reviews section, if we do this regularly and push the articles in fb / twitter etc it can help a bit.

@BNF It shouldn't be about fairness. There are literally thousands upon thousands of internet based artists, most of which will never, EVER, become anything more than what they are right now. One man's trash may be another man's treasure, but at the end of the day it's still mostly trash. I think Koolo is looking to push the people who have a genuine talent and provide an exclusive place for them to showcase themselves, as to separate them from the others.

@LasiK, I'm all for sectioning off the who's who and the nobodys into different categories but to completely blacklist people is just ridiculous. This is coming from someone who does not approve of 90% of the s--- people post in this section but at the same time I understand where I once was as a teenager tryina spit my struggle bars. Now I'm super dope. I don't have fear I won't be allowed to post, I'm confident in my abilities, but I feel for the stragglers and don't believe they should be totally blackballed from posting.

This is where I'm comin from...

im a mod in this section, but you would be a brilliant addition for sure.. The more the merrier.

Ive been pretty busy lately.

But soon i have ideas for compilations & getting producers to collab & such.

This was done before on SL, but was forgotten.
I want to do a challege series, where i get producers to take a sample & see what they all come up with & pick a winner.
& after a few weeks of doing all of this. The person with the most wins get a reward. @Koolo what do you think?

We could come up with ideas & things.


Recently i started making music again, so im going to be posting in here alot.

lasik would be a fantastic addition as mod.

Instead of a producer's thread, make it's own sub-forum. I think the entire section could be turned into a series of sub-forums. A producer's forum, a rappers forum, singer etc. A help section, the whole nine.

maybe something on the front page about like "top new songs from SXN80 artists" or something..can feature beats, songs, remixes whatever and clicking on one of them takes you to the thread its posted in or the thread made for it (because some songs, like the ones i post, will go into my existing thread if i didnt make a new one).

this would need a mod for this section that stays on top of new stuff and updates the feed manually and s--- idk
