Dec 7, 2015 i wasn't watching the periscope (obviously lol) but it was implied to me this fall that the album would be entirely new material, as in nothing that was turned in this summer.
Dec 7, 2015 lol people are so awful at interpreting s--- Hitunes is not a finished album. It's a work in progress. they've said was finished in the past because thug has 1000 songs in the vault. Hitunes could most definitely exist amongst those. But it evolves with each tape thug decides to drop and each event that occurs in his career. Blb said (like weeks ago now lol so I don't know why this is being brought up now) that in reality Hitunes will be album done intimately in like a week long studio session with him Alex thug and London. It will be almost all new material...new as in record next year new. Some (very few) infamous snippets, like for Party Tonight, will appear on the album but everything else is unheard of from the vault (no snippets at all) or totally new recorded next year. That's all. Hitunes isn't "scrapped" lmao. They never had a real Hitunes to began with, they had ideas and they had 5 trillion songs to chose from. Thug recently said there should be no features on an album and that it should be solely about the artist. But with people like Elton Kanye and Andre cosigning thug, how can there not be? Blb says he wants an album full of bangers not love songs. And that doesn't sound like Alex's version of the album. They aren't set on anything yet -- Cept that Hitunes counts. And that they'll make it count (and that Blb wants to do "a million first week" -- rofl)
Dec 7, 2015 Don't s---t messenger. I really don't think it would be all that crazy if he had some of the album completed at this point. Especially since there was already a release date floating around. Just getting everybody up to date.
Dec 7, 2015 didnt mean for that to sound aggressive towards u specifically if it did lol in my opinion "Slime Season" the original...before even the leaks...was supposed to be a london produced project. Thats what Hitunes has become, and slime season turned into its own thing. so along the way songs/partial albums could have existed i hope Hitunes isnt just perpetually pushed back while they wait for the "right time" or something tho...but i guess we cant complain if we keep getting new music so frequently
Dec 7, 2015 i'm pretty sure they submitted either an album or the skeleton of an album in late june or early july. i get what you're saying otherwise (except that i imagine you're overstating the engineer's role in the creative direction, but we'd all be speculating on that front).
Dec 7, 2015 idk from my stalking thus far (a lot of this is from blb, but he exaggerates a fair amount of the time i bet) they've cut thug's camp down to just a handful of people. a lot different than 2013/2014 with rich g--- and that entire atmosphere. for about the past year blb and alex seem to have had a lot of input, including helping create the final tracklists for b6 and ss1. like blb hates amazing, but alex forced it to be on the record (him and thug skip it apparently lol). he wanted pass me the lighter w/ duke on there, but they chose dome as the 2nd duke track. At least nowadays, a completed project seems to be more of Alex's work than anyone else. I hope this is what you meant by creative direction btw, I wasnt really sure...like Alex clearly has a ton of say at this point. Thug is just a nonstop influx of creativity, and the core teams been cut down to just like alex and blb apparently. as far as Hitunes...like I said, I think it was Slime Season at first. When it was supposed to be just a london produced project. songs like this that leaked are probably from those sessions Then SS1 and SS2 happened, and Hitunes is more of an idea than anything else (an idea that can come to fruition at the drop of a hat tho because..well, thug)
Dec 8, 2015 hopefully this means it will feel like more of a cohesive project. a lot of thugs mixtapes feel like compilation albums because they are recorded at all different times and they just pick random songs from the vault.
Dec 8, 2015 not talking about barter 6. ss2 came out so well. its surprising it came out like that because im pretty sure they just went through the vault and put songs that go together on there. ss1 was kinda all over the place though. i loved how barter 6 had a certain sound and aesthetic to it. it was def the most cohesive from thug
Dec 8, 2015 Why are you guys even tripping? This dude drops a new project every 2 months. SS3 is coming close to new years (I Think) and this will be out by Spring of next year. Thug doesnt want to keep his fans waiting.

Dec 8, 2015 I freakin love Alex, but BLB is starting to get really annoying. I don't want him controlling what we get from thug. All he does is make videos, he is trying to be more important than he really is imo. I do like how he has thug releasing more music and keeps us up to date though.
