May 25, 2015 Most of you probably weren't on message boards when this happened, but I'm curious if anyone else remembers the reactions when Encore first leaked, cuz I do and they were f---in great. I wasn't signed up on RB yet I don't think but I was lurking it and I was on another board too. People were in denial, the theory some came up with is that this is a fake album Em wanted to leak to fool people, the real album we'd get on release day. This theory was of course ridiculous but some people actually went along with it. Some were even acting as if this is Em's 'f--- you' to the idea of albums always leaking early and claiming Em was smart for doing this. Some said these were throwaway songs Em made quickly just to fool people. Let's also keep in mind this was after TES and 8 mile so people had crazy high expectations so to see everyone's reactions was well....hilarious to say the least even though we were all very disappointed. Also if I remember right, hardly anybody liked it other than 'like toy soldiers' and a couple other songs. Like toy soldiers was seen as the unanimous best song if I remember right. Wish I could remember more details but that's all that's coming to mind right now, hopefully some of you guys remember this too.
May 25, 2015 I wish it never leaked, I bet if we go back in time and stop it from leaking it would be a classic and eminem kept on touring and doing drugs and eventually died of an overdose so we had to go back in time and leak the album but we accidently lose the album and we had to record a new one and it all works out fine except some minor things have changed in the present.

May 25, 2015 I was on Rap Basement (it was still D12 World) at the time and I remember everything you said. It was shocking because this was the first time we even heard a single bad song from Em, let alone a full bad album. I remember I still had dial-up internet at the time and I had to leave my computer on overnight to let it download lol.

May 25, 2015 Nobody liked it, it was pretty unanimous. I remember the rumors about it being a fake intentional leak as a "f--- you" to his fans for the Straight From The Lab leak. I believed it at first and was hoping it was true lol. Mockingbird was and still is the highlight of the album for me.

May 25, 2015 kind of weird it has Crazy in Love, Encore/Curtains Close, Mosh, Like Toy Soldiers, Just Lose It... did those leak prior? would think a fake tracklist would have Bully, Love You More, etc.
May 25, 2015 If anyone is interested go to www.web.archive.org, you can check out websites from 2004 when Encore released, or earlier if interested. Many of the forums have the thread titles archived but not the actual threads. Either way, if someone does some digging I'm sure you can find some cool stuff.
May 25, 2015 I think he means that If we were able to go back in time and make it so Encore never leaked, It would have been a diffierent better album, done well, em would have gone a world tour, released a new album (King Mathers), Continued doing drugs and would have died. Than we would have to go back again and this time to ensure Em doesn't overdose and the album isn't bad we have him record a new one. Em goes on hiatus and were are left with a Classic version of Encore in the future. Bam. Explained.
