It all depends on personal taste

I love both albums, but I know people who can't get through one song off 1989 because that genre is not for them

But my take on the assertion is that I've listening to "To p---- A Butterfly" more lately

1989 takes no risks and will be forgotten about in the next few years, kendrick is actually trying to talk about issues within the community.
    there is literally no competition

ignoring the premise that a TERRIBLE remix reaching #1 reflects on quality whatsoever, lol: 1989 is a little too poppy and manufactured... to be sure tpab isn't the second coming we all thought, i'd put them neck and neck. edge to tpab for the "lush sonic mindscapes and Hamlet-like anxieties" as ty burr put it today

    ya goof

obviously i'm joking about bad blood being proof in any way of one album's superiority (it's the second-worst song on 1989). but it's def a better album. no pac interviews.
