    http://sectioneighty.com/forum/rate-this-album-sir-luscious-left-foot-the-son-of-chico-dusty.t30083/

I started this ongoing thread in the music section last week, but I'm gonna do a special edition for DSP now that we've had a week to sit on it. I'll copy and paste the OP (be sure to rate Big Boi's album in the other topic too):

"Had this idea for a topic that I think would be a great way to get a general idea of sectioneighty's taste in rap and possibly expose people to new music. I'll start with only rap albums since that's what's most popular here, but I might move onto other genres depending on how popular this is/isn't:

Every day or two (or whenever I feel like updating if we get good discussion/I forget) I'll update the topic title with a new album. Everyone rates the album out of ten and writes a blurb about why they gave the album that rating. I'm not asking for an in-depth review, just a sentence or two about why you like or dislike the album. At the end of each rating period, I'll add up all the scores and post sxn80's average score for said album. Other mods feel free to update this topic with another album if I forget.

    Rules:
    1. Bold your rating so it's easier for me to see.
    2. Don't rate an album if you haven't listened to it at least a few times.
    3. I won't count your rating if you don't write a blurb.
    4. Feel free to nominate an album you want to see rated by sectioneighty."

Great album. I didn't expect anything more from this. Favorite track still Paradise, I just love the beat on it, sounds like something you would listen to when you're in a club stoned as f---, & it won't f--- with your vibe at all (might even make it hundred times better), the fast rapping is even tolerable.

    Favorite line : "I always wanted to f--- that b----, thank you god I f--- that b----".

7/10 It's no Hall of Fame or Finally Famous, but to be fair both of those albums took about a month or 2 to grow on me. It's a nice listen through though. I've listened to it all the way through about 6 times.

    8/10.
easily sean's best work to date. nearly everything seems to work on this album. keeping it to a shorter tracklist was the best choice he could have made. should have replaced Play No Games with Research. sean has a full range of flows and his collabs are properly placed (minus Play No Games, which the entire song falls flat -- everything from the beat to chris brown's hook seem incredibly recycled, to the point where i've been trying to recall where i've already heard this song before)

i'd like to see section eighty review Now That's What I Call Music!, releases 1-89, UK versions only.

Production is sometimes decent but overall Sean's corniness and boring voice make me lose interest whenever a verse starts. This is the first time for me listening to one of his albums and if people are saying it's his best work then I won't be checking out his old stuff, ever. I've also never had an album drag on so much with 12 songs.

Totally forgettable. A few gems here and there, but Sean isn't nearly an entertaining enough writer to carry an album. The guest contributions salvage their songs, and the production is as good as you'd expect from an album backed by Kanye, but Sean barely has enough content in his repertoire to fill three songs, let alone fifteen.

I think it's just as good as his first two albums, if not a little better. Including the bonus tracks, I thoroughly enjoy 13 out of 15 songs (still can't get into Play No Games or Win Some, Lose Some). I honestly have a hard time picking my favorite between Dark Sky, Blessings, All Your Fault, IDFWU, Paradise, Deep, OMCCTW, and the Outro. All of the rest I didn't mention are pretty good too, but it's all great Big Sean music to me.

Better than both his first albums. Very cohesive project. Seans flows impress throughout.

Gems here and there, typical Big Sean project with a couple bangers and the rest are fillers. Production and features make this a 6 or it'd be worse.

Hall of fame was about an 8.5-9/10 for me. Nicki track killed it.

    Anyways,
Dark Sky Paradise is tight, I enjoy pretty much every song, my favorites are Paradise, Stay Down, Blessings, One Man CCTW.
oh s--- and Research is a b-----r, he won. Ariana sounds goat on that song

IDFWU is a b-----r, i dont listen to radio so i havent got tired of it. He actually has some good rhymes on that song too

very solid album. Big Sean won, hes like T.I. to me, always reps his city, can rhyme, but stays mainstream at the same time which there isn't a problem with that at all. I got what I expect from Big Sean :kush: if you say this is lower than a 6 you can gtfo.

Favorite tracks: Dark Sky (Skyscrapers), All Your Fault, Win Some, Lose Some, One Man Can Change the World. The two latter tracks really showcase his progression in terms of subject matter.

Least fav: I Don't f--- With You or Play No Games. I don't skip them when I play the album though.

The vibe of the production is solid throughout the project.

    Skyscrapers - 8
    Blessings - 7
    All Your Fault - 9
    IDFWU - 6
    PNG - 6
    PE - 8
    WSLS - 7.5
    Stay Down - 8
    Deep - 8.5
    OMCCTW - 8.5
    Outro - 8

Really enjoyable project. The production was really impressive, and this album proves that Sean can make great music if he's in the right state of mind along with having the right people to back him up.

    Overall a 7.04/10

nah. Detroit is still his best body of work. Although it's a mixtape, I still think this is his best project.
