Has anyone listened to this album or G-Eazy in general. I feel like he has a good chance of blowing up over the next few years.

A few of my favorites on the album are I mean it, almost famous, lotta that, opportunity costs. Also a B-side song Monica Lewinsky which i wonder why it didn't make the album.

    Thoughts?

I've known about G-Eazy for a while. Seen people talking and retweeting his stuff on Twitter. Never really listened to his music before tho. I really am digging the songs you posted. I downloaded the album and am about to give it a play thru. Good looks. :khaled2:

Eh, didn't really like this album, I listened to it once a few months ago. His rapping is basic and kinda cliche at times (Let's Get Lost for example), the beats in the OP are nice though (listened again to the songs before posting). I didn't find him interesting tbh.

let me enjoy my white nerd rap :westbrook:

eazy can flow, production choice always on point.

you can't go into a g eazy album and try and critique it like it's any other album either..if you don't get it, you don't get it.

Just finished the album. s--- is nice. Slows down the last quarter of the album. I can't help but compare him to Logic. I used to be a huge fan of Logic until his album dropped. Major disappointment. The majority of Logics album he sounds so overwhelmingly corny I can't even listen to it. G-Eazy > Logic

Being white doesn't mean you can't have standards. @Jet
This dude sounds like karaoke night and all they have are Mac Miller and Drake songs.

woah, when did I say that. let's NOT put words in my mouth.

like I said, if you don't get it, you don't get it. he's absolutely not for everyone (obv) but I do enjoy his music

there's literally a whole genre of straight nerd rap and they pretty much all s--- a--- but I respect eazy for whatever reason. I Mean It came up on my iTunes radio last year so that's when I first heard him..almost look at him as the "pioneer" of his little sub genre

How is this guy nerdy at all? Seriously, he's saying lines Drake would write last minute. Yeah he "pioneered" appealing to white people by ripping off black people. Not even in an original way like Eminem. Even the production on Almost Famous sounds like 40. His tracks would improve if they were instrumentals tbh.

I'm not saying you can't like it @Jet just don't act like there's some intangible quality I don't understand.

I did try to listen to this album a few weeks ago. Don't like it, sounds very generic to me. I kinda dig his song with Jez Dior tho.

    Just now seeing this thread.

I understand why some people would write G-Eazy off as a bs throwaway rapper. He's incredibly cheesy and doesn't make worthwhile music. He won't go down in history. He doesn't say anything substantial. However, I'd argue he's the best artist at making 'chill' Hip Hop music with quality production (seriously, find someone else). I love his style. It's fantastic background noise. He's not trying too hard. His lyrics aren't complicated (yet they do just enough to keep me entertained). He's one of the most underrated producers in rap. G-Eazy has an interesting story.

These Things Happen wasn't good. I'd give it a 5/10. G-Eazy switched his style up again and made this album almost exclusively for 16 year old Tumblr girls (literally made a track called Tumblr Girls, it was actually good). The bonus tracks cut from the album were all better than anything on These Things Happen. It was just a messy, corny project.

But, for the record, 'Must Be Nice' (his last album) is a GOAT album. 9/10.

Listen to Must Be Nice here: http://www.djbooth.net/index/albums/review/g-eazy-must-be-nice
