Everyone keeps talking about how abysmal 2014 was - I wholeheartedly disagree. And I'm sure there are plenty of people out there with at least a handful of favorites from this past year.

This thread is about those tracks that stood out to you.

In order to prevent this thread from the usual spam of random links, it would be nice if people wrote a line or two about each of their choices (you can choose as many as you want of course). This could also help people find some more great music from last year.

I can't see myself ever getting tired of this. It's beautiful. And although there are fantastic lyrics throughout, "tell norrie about me…" from the way he sings it, to the "i just want you to do me a favor," to the following outro, hits home more than a majority of 2014 releases. The emotional premise isn't a new territory for Ye, but there is something distinctly different about this effort. And the result is something that feels eternally blissful, and will probably be a timeless ode from a loving mother to her straying son.

When Eminem fans do s--- like this when he drops an average song (Guts Over Fear) they get roasted... I don't think I've ever seen a bigger overreaction to an okay song. It's okay, not a f---ing work of art or historically great just because Kanye made it. I just don't get it.

My bad bruh, didn't realize it was the wrong thread. Don't want to derail this with off topic s---, it's just I don't get the hype for the new track (people saying it's an all time great) I just hear an average track. And I also consider Gof average.

Anyway I would have to think for a minute what's my favorite track of 2014. I'll touch back on that after some thought

It blows my mind that anyone could think Guts Over Fear and Only One are the same, quality-wise. Even IF a person thinks Only One is average at best, I would hope that could recognize that Guts Over Fear is pretty much a--- lol. There's almost nothing redeeming about it. There's a lot to about Only One, on the other hand.

I personally can't get over the melody/production, Kanye's lyrics are sentimental and touching in a way he hasn't been in FOREVER, and the entire song just hits me right in the feels.
