Aug 2, 2015 I imagine he wrote his own lyrics back in the early NWA days. Why would someone ghostwrite for an artist that isn't even established?
Aug 3, 2015 The D.O.C. or Ice Cube would've wrote for Dre during the NWA-era I'd assume. They did ghostwrite for Eazy after all.
Aug 3, 2015 I was wondering too tbh. I mean I know a lot was written for him but maybe he did write some verses himself
Aug 3, 2015 I don't think he ever has. As someone mentioned, he had DOC or Cube write for him during NWA days. He had Snoop, Warren G, Kurupt during his days on DR. Even for what was arguably his biggest single as a solo artist "Keep the Heads Ringing", I heard years ago that DJ Pooh wrote that one. For 2001 he had a few contribute like Jay, Em, Hittman, Bishop, etc. I know basically every song he has done with Em, that Em has written his verses. I also heard that Timbaland wrote his "Drug Test" verses for Game's album. It's interesting if you go back and listen to some of his early NWA or DR stuff and then listen to some of his Aftermath stuff, how differently his flow sounds depending on the era (and who wrote the verse). So no, I don't think he has written any of his verses - at least not for any of the songs that have been released to the public.
Aug 3, 2015 I'm sure he has written a few lines here and then, but mostly other people write his verses.
Aug 4, 2015 I was just wondering this myself. Eminem - Forgot About Dre & The Watcher + Dre's verses on Lets Get High & b--- b--- (listening to the lyrics you can totally tell) Jay-z - Still D.R.E Royce - The Message
Aug 4, 2015 Probably didn't write anything on the new album, give or a take maybe a few verses. Honestly not really that big of a deal to me that he probably didn't write a majority of the songs. I always saw Dre as a producer, he can make the songs work, regardless of who wrote them and who's on the beat.
Aug 4, 2015 Not sure why you linked the second video? its an Eminem freestyle, nothing to do with ghost-writing.
Aug 4, 2015 Its weird to think about Dre and Eazy had beef with ghostwrited lyrics. Eazy's diss was better though.
