Aug 10, 2015 vs. Two all time great NFL players. The most successful quarterbacks of their generation and arguably of all time. Often compared and contrasted, supported and denounced. Both held in high regard for their skill, preparation, and intelligence. 5 Superbowl Rings 9 Superbowl Appearances 4 Superbowl MVP Awards 7 League MVP Awards 32 Playoff Wins 25 Pro Bowl Nominations Opposite sides of a coin. Deviating beginnings, one a college superstar, the other a relative no-name. Different careers, one a raw stat machine like the league has never seen, another with the intangible to win more than anyone. Ultimate calculation and knowledge as opposed to pure willpower and emotion. Who is the best? Who would you rather have (In the regular season? In the playoffs? In a big game? When you need to win?) Discuss here. DISCLAIMER: If you can't accept how great both of these players are then you probably shouldn't engage in the conversation.
Aug 10, 2015 I think even the Team Manning ppl will tell you Brady's got him after grabbing his 4th ring and Manning completing his 9th one-and-done. The answer for "who would you rather have?" is Brady in all of those instances. Some ppl might say Manning for regular season because of his stats but if you go by their winning %'s Brady is almost at 77 while Manning is 68.
Aug 10, 2015 Brady because he's done more with less. Peyton has the better statistics in the regular season (though, it's really not that much more improved) but he's been smothered with talent & high quality players throughout his career. Not saying Brady hasn't had any high quality players either but it's evident that Peyton's played with a lot more than Brady.
Aug 10, 2015 If they had the same team: Manning in the regular season, Brady in the playoffs. (The cliche answer.)
Aug 11, 2015 Brady would never have allowed such a travesty to occur in a Superbowl. That's the difference.
Aug 11, 2015 Definitely Brady, Peyton probably has the better stats overall but Brady's definitely the one more likely to lead you to a championship and that's what matters most.
Aug 11, 2015 If Peyton played in New England and Brady played in Indy though I bet Peyton would have more rings. Peyton has thrown for the most TD's of all time
Aug 11, 2015 In this fantasy world you live in does Bob Kraft build Peyton a dome stadium? Because even the most casual fan knows Peyton is s--- in cold weather games, especially the ones played at Gillette Stadium. Imagine what a career in New England would do to his precious stats lol...
Aug 11, 2015 Had Brady been the QB for the Broncos in that Super Bowl, the outcome still would have been the same. That Seahawk's D was determined & on a mission that year.
Aug 11, 2015 Tom Brady and the Pats would never get their doors blown off in a Super Bowl like that though, not in a million years.
Aug 11, 2015 "Ton Brady & the Pats" I said had Brady been on that Broncos team, outcome wouldn't have been any different.
Aug 11, 2015 A 35 point loss with that defense and those offensive weapons? That was vintage "cold weather Manning" If Brady was QB of that team they might have lost but never that type of trouncing. Which I assume was his "travesty" point.
Aug 12, 2015 What do you mean with "that defense?" Broncos defense that year wasn't very good. There were certain things in that game that Peyton simply had no control over. The center snapping the ball over his head as he was trying to audible on the first offensive play of the game which lead to a safety. Constant silly penalties like having 12 men on the field, a pass interference call in the end zone which lead to a Lynch TD, etc. Not to mention Peyton was constantly pressured/hit all game & was even hit as he threw on one of his interceptions which lead to a pick 6. It's clear Peyton didn't play well but Brady isn't exactly the most mobile QB either & give or take 7 or maybe 14 points, Seattle still wins this game by a big margins if Brady is QB.
Aug 12, 2015 None of those things happens if Brady is in there. He would never let his team scrub it up like that. The Pats have gotten blown out like that maybe twice in his whole career and it def wouldn't happen in the Super Bowl. The greatest of all time would never get his teeth kicked down his throat like that.
Aug 12, 2015 Their skills & stats are almost a push, so it comes down to who's more valuable. He's played with half the offensive talent Peyton's had over the years (Edgerin James, Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, Demarious Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Julius Thomas) compared to mostly receivers nobody wanted until finally getting Moss, Gronk, and Welker for the last 5 years or so. He's got more rings, he's more clutch, wins the head to head comparison, and goes home to this everyday. Spoiler This is Brady in a landslide tbh.
Aug 12, 2015 Brady would not have allowed such a travesty to occur in a Superbowl. Absolutely not. Are you gonna tell me Brady wouldn't have been "determined" and "on a mission" that year had he been in the SB? The man was long over due for another ring after being robbed. He played that same defense and had one of his best games ever, on one of the biggest stages in all of sports. You put Tommy god on that Broncos team it would have been a completely different game.
