Which 1st listen did you guys prefer, the un-announced mixtape that dropped in the middle of the night or Views?

I loved Views on my 1st listen and it's gotten better after every spin, but I have to go with IYRT. I don't think it's better (too early to say either way) but it was Drake in a different lane, using beats & flows we hadn't heard from him before. Of course it helps that it was a surprise, but all things considered IYRT was still more enjoyable on my 1st listen.

When I first listened to 'Views' I was already tired from working 15 hrs...and wasn't in the mood, so I found the album a bore. On my full-REAL listen, some tracks were off putting to me, but I felt the project held up to be a strong effort. I personally believe it went on too long though; maybe should've had 15 or 16 tracks at most. (or release a deluxe edition).. I give the album a 7/10 for what it is.

At the end of the day though, I prefer IYRT by a mile. My first listen of that was the complete opposite and it has become ONE of my favorite Drake projects to date. I gave that a 9/10...and that score still stands.

Who knows.. I may warm up to Views on repeat listens..or maybe it just needs time to sink in after the listening experience.

Views is definitely a grower. IYRT was kinda in your face, so imo that made it easier to process.

Star67 might be the best song on either project.

How much have you listened to Views? You gotta sit with it a week before getting a true handle on it.

something like that i think not sure

this was probably the hardest drake album for me to sit through. it was too self-absorbed. it had great moments though, just like iyrt.

in reality they're probably very close to each other quality wise. views is just more polished and has more singing where iyrt was heavy on the rapping

Definitely more than IYRT but idk, TC & NWTS are just as if not more self absorbed.

Doesn't bother me that you don't like the album, but some of the reasons you give are just kinda...odd.
Feel that way about every Drake song tbh.

drake definitely explores his own psyche to greater success on take care. especially compared to how shallow everything is on views.

and there's a difference between being self absorbed on a tracklist as tight as nwts and one like views is there not?
