Dec 7, 2016 Gonna miss 206. By the time I get off work, the main card will be either just about over, if not over already. Sucks because while the name value isn't high, there's definitely some barnburners on the lineup.
Dec 8, 2016 Brown talking a lot of s--- about Cowboy, calling him a bully and s---. TBH Brown seems much more of the bully type, hope he gets his a--- whooped.
Dec 9, 2016 I think they both just have really contrasting personalities. Matt Brown seems like the type of guy who would go live in the woods by himself. Cerrone does come off kinda obnoxious sometimes. I never got the bully vibe from him tho. This fight has to be great tho... Both guys are always in entertaining fights as they're all about offense and whirlwinds of muay thai. This card is one of the very top few in the last year or so imo (no hipster). Just a bunch of very exciting strikers. A lot of them can be really flashy too. Gives a really cool theme to the card. Really looking forward to it. Doesn't have a bunch of fights with big title implications but it's bound to be exciting. Ironically, it'd probably be a real good card for people who are trying to get into MMA. Shame none of them are gonna watch it.
Dec 9, 2016 What happens now? Just no interim title on the line ? All these belts confusing as f--- Holloway be testing that cardio of Pettis now after a tough weight cut. Could be a long night for him
Dec 9, 2016 Wonder what would happen if Pettis wins. Title Shot should go to Korean Superboy if he beats Cub and Pettis wins. Although the UFC should probably be weary of DHC's 2 year mandatory Military Service that looms within the next few years (the one Korean Zombie just got back from).
Dec 9, 2016 She always looks awful at weigh ins. Classic 125 LB'er, too small for 135 and has a lot of trouble cutting down to 115. I would have said they would definitely end up making a women's 125 LB division before they make a 145 LB division due to lack of depth at 145 + all the BW's/SW's who could go up or down, but it seems they are ready to go with 145 as soon as Cyborg is able to make the weight again (apparently that last cut to 140 f----- her up and she turned down a fight in Brooklyn at UFC 208, needed more time).
Dec 9, 2016 If Pettis comes in heavy and wrestlefucks, he should be cut. Choi won't be doing his service until his early/mid 30s. The odds of him being champ long enough for that to conflict aren't too high. UFC would cream their jeans over an Asian superstar. Probably sneak him out of the country.
Dec 9, 2016 Source? I've heard it had to be completed by age 29. Korean Zombie did it from age 27-29, same with Kyung Ho Kang (who finishes in February i think). I believe Hyun Gyu Lim and Dong Hyun Kim served in their late teens/early 20's. DHC will be 26 in April.
Dec 9, 2016 Just wanna remind people that Marc Diakiese is fighting in a few hours. If he gets a KO in this one the hype surrounding him will likely elevate quite a lot more. Early days tho... We'll see. He's 10-0 and debuted a couple months ago. Exciting striker. Just 23 years old. Quite a bit of ego involved in this one too likely as seen from the face off he had with Perez above
Dec 9, 2016 ^Guillotine defense is on point Might have trouble with higher level wrestlers as Sajewski on late notice took him down at least once if i remember correctly. Perez won't be that guy though. Perez is tough though, he retired Sam Stout back on that Holloway/Oliveira card and then retired himself weirdly. Good to see him and Jordan Mein both coming out of retirement this weekend, both were too young.
Dec 9, 2016 He's shown some freakish strength in his fights in the UK. He definitely has the natural ability. Hopefully it translates into TDD. He's actually hit a ton of crazy takedowns in his fights in regional promotions. All kinds of trips and throws. Thing is tho... wrestling doesn't exist in the UK. UFC level wrestling is a whole different ball game.
