Listened to The Eminem Show at work and was reminded of how amazing of an album it was. From the jump AMEERICAAAAAAA he takes you in for a ride. The america metaphor goes into the next track with a rap game metaphor and then the Eminem Show is on full display after.

All the beats were fantastic and he really held his own self producing most of this. The ONLY low is Drips and even that song isnt that bad. Compare Drips to the Ken Kaniff MMLP skit or Amityville. I'd take Drips.

This album is Eminem at his best. His pen game is impeccable, he shows immense growth from MMLP, he is more transparent than ever, and the shock value is toned down a bit to show his artistry and s--- on his critics. Yes MMLP is a classic and SSLP is his grand introduction to the world but TES was his showing of why he one of the best rappers to ever grace a mic. TES is his best project. What you hear in this album is a genius at work

    Great album.

But MMLP probably takes the upper hand by a very small margin imo.

Also, Drips is alright, but nowhere near as pointless as the nonsensical Say What U Say.

Basically Dre dragging Eminem into a beef with Jermaine Dupri that nobody gave a s--- about in the first place and that only resulted in an aged song.

How they thought it was album material is beyond me. He should have replaced it with Stimulate instead. It would have made more sense to the album, sonically.

^ agreed I'm happily Say Goodbye to Hollywood was added last minute but if they were going to make changes that late, why not get rid of SWYS? Maybe they just needed that Dre co sign and getting another track between the 2 wouldn't delayed it by 6 months.

IMO TES is the best put together album from production to mixing and everything inbetween. I just personally prefer MMLP. Although would prob change that if SWYS wasn't on there.

Devil's Night was Eminem at his peak, too bad he wasted that time with those losers from D12

seriously the bizarre-less version is a classic I can't even imagine what we would've gotten from a solo album from DN or 8 mile era

Lmao the only way Devil's Night could ever be a classic is if all the other D12 members were removed.

I agree with @Soldier though, it seemed his rapping ability and charisma had formed a perfect marriage in 2001, and his performances on DN were flawless.

If he made a solo album during that period instead of an album with D12, it would easily be his best album.

If you're talking about Eminem's performance on the album, yes. The rest of the album is not however. He only appears on less than 1/3 of it, and most of the other material on there was lukewarm. I've never heard a song as bad as That's My n----- fo' Real.

Also, the first three tracks on the bonus disk were better than half the album.
