Not even top 5 of the year.

Karaoke album, just cut out the middle man and listen to Cole or Kendrick.

I listen to all three, and I just can't see the similarities that everyone makes. What is the top 5 this year?

Great production. But too much biting of Kendrick & Cole. Under Pressure the song is so blantantly biting Kendrick im surprised he actually released it.

He did 'overdo' it a bit with the classic quotes, 'kick in the door wavin the 44', 'freedom or jail/clips inserted' etc etc etc. It's fine to pay homage, but there is a fine line. One of very few criticisms I'd give him on the project..

It's kind of corny to me at times, but I do like a handful of tracks.

Case in point, I wrote this on another forum but Nikki had me like :dahell:. A song about being addicted to cigarettes seems underwhelming given the classics this culture has given us on the subject of drug abuse and addiction in the past. Like this song:

    :wow:

Also I don't like Shady 2.0 Royce at all (his work with both BME and SH). But PRhyme had Premo thats different :manny: I still think new Royce stinks.

If you listen to nikki and the way it's delivered, I don't see how you can't like it.

Even if you disagreed with top 5, it's hard to argue against at least 3 of those albums. 2014 has been a weak year for albums, so what exactly does that say about Logic lmao..

Then you have great mixtapes like Mick Jenkins' 'the waters' and the QuESt tape, which take Logic's work even further back.

Never got round to it, heard tracks from it though.

Is it worth a full listen.. would you put it on par with the aforementioned tapes?

Its definitely good, but its overrated a bit. To me, the top 2 albums of the year are Piñata and My Krazy Life. Haven't listened to Cadiliactica yet though (going off your list). Here's a gem of the RTJ joint if you haven't heard it yet though:

Great albums, but I don't like it as much as most. Songs like Love Again had me like :dahell:

The production value is off the charts on RTJ2.

I am a huge fan of Kendrick Lamar. Dude is my second favorite rapper of all time. I have loved his music for a while now.

I also like J Cole, really enjoyed his last 2 albums.

Anyways, I loved Under Pressure and imo it is album of the year. I also do not understand the Kendrick comparisons. The dude is just influenced by him and respects him. They have nothing in common other than he used a similar beat on two songs, and he was showing respect by that and showing that he can do things like that too.

The Cole comparisons on the other hand I think are the same thing with the Kendrick comparisons except in a different way. Cole and Logic are friends. Therefor Logic is influenced by him as well. You can hear him in some of his songs but tbh not that much. He just took some Cole and added him to his style.

Anyways, people hate on Logic way too much and Under Pressure was amazing. Good thing Logic has a good fan base tbh. Glad Logic found himself on this album and made an amazing album.

Take some drake and some dot mix em up in a pot, sprinkle a little j cole on top wtf do you got... Logic. And not in a good way lol. I f--- with logic though, the sinatra tracks are dope as h---, this album was just too much imitation not enough innovation.

I just don't get the imitation everyone is talking about. I need examples. What's so similar about Logic and the other guys?
