Sep 25, 2017 I was listening to music today when I realized that a bunch of older artists actually referenced nascar a ton, specifically Dale Earnhardt (prolly cause his named rhymed with a bunch of words or sumn), and to my knowledge there isn't any new dudes dropping nascar bars lmao Stuff like that, that used to be trends but are hardly prevalent or nonexistent today...once upon a time every other album had a sex skit of some type on it. Speaking of skits, just skits in general are hardly even a thing now-- most albums either don't have them at all or would-be skits are merged into outros and intros like on TPAB or something. What are some things that used to be a big part of rap that faded away?
Sep 25, 2017 some more -Rappers making gay jokes, calling people gay as an insult. Probably still exists but not as prevalent. -Rapper and Producer duos -Double albums, still rarely happen
Sep 25, 2017 heres another one I've been wanting to discuss with someone for a long time but kept forgetting about ever notice how old (90s) albums a lot of times, some tracks will reference or sample other tracks (like a single) on the same album? why was it that this happened so much back then but no one does it now?
Sep 25, 2017 You said trends that faded, not trends that completely died out. The vast majority of rappers lack lyricism
Sep 25, 2017 okay but the title says died out so it doesnt matter either or lol btw quit using day theme fa----
Sep 25, 2017 Referincing super heroes was like a rest bar in the 80s/90s and happened in every song, but today it doesnt happen. Guess it doesnt fit in this certain bubble of cool things to say for a mainstream rapper
