    On how you view Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.

    I need to understand how this generation views these people. (not saying I'm like 40 years old, because I am apart of this generation, but it's mind boggling that people really believe Steve Jobs revolutionized the computing industry, and other things)

    People don't know the history behind how Apple gained relevance, and how Bill Gates was a huge factor in just that. They don't understand anything about Steve Jobs or Apple. But yeah, I see what you're saying @helpmefam, it's ridiculous.

    Despite how much you'd like to discredit Steve Jobs, he got s--- done and accelerated the industry by atleast 5 years. He also advocated simplified technology and made it mainstream as f---.

    Bill Gates did literally everything first, and then Steve made it mainstream. That's not a good thing.

    Imagine that in music terms man. It's f----- up. Like Steve just took existing s--- and was like "ok I did this" and dumb a--- people fell for it

    Okay Bill Gates' technology wouldn't mean s--- if it wasn't mainstream and in everyone's hand. Look at Windows phones and tablets... yeah that's like non-existent. Why isn't it a good thing? He took Bill Gates ideas and tech, and made it better. I don't see how that's a bad thing.

    Okay Dre and Wu-Tang and our early hip hop invented that s--- but if there was no one to advance the genre like Kanye, Jay, Kendrick, Eminem then hip hop wouldn't be what it is today.

    Check the edit. And you're being bias af right now it seems. Mainstream doesn't always mean better but it does in this case.

    Not quite friend. He more-so took his technology, dumbed it down slightly, made it less compatible across the board, polished it up a little in terms of how it looks, made the tech less durable and charged a minimum of 3x the actual value.

    Steve Jobs & Apple's recipe is to take technology, dumb it down, polish it as @InLoveWithTheCOCO said, and to patent it, and call it their own. Then when other companies want to innovate on something similar, Apple takes them to court, and Steve throws temper tantrums.

    I'm honestly f---ing sick of hearing "Apple is innovative"
    you can get the f--- out of this planet with that thinking. They aren't innovative they are boxing in the users of their tech.
    Lets say you get a new phone and want to put music on it;
    iPhone
    -itunes locked
    -cant sync to other computers
    -you plug it into one computer and one itunes library that's it you're done.

    Mobile Phone
    -drag and drop songs from any computer to anywhere on your phone

    How do people not see this absolute fuckery?

    Let's say Mac/Computer breaks, your options are;
    Mac
    -take to apple store, s--- the hipster clerks c---, hope it gets fixed for the small price of $1000

    Computer
    -open it the f--- up and fix it yourself
    -find which part is faulty and replace it for less than $100
    -doesn't even break in the first place because it isn't apple-trash

    I guess you see it as making the tech worse, but I see it as making the tech better and more reachable to the common person. Whether you admit it or not, if it wasn't for Jobs we'd still be looking at computers and people who use them as geeks and these basement dwelling little dweebs. He brought it mainstream and made it cool to own and be apart of technology. He gave us a phone that combined the computer, the phone, and iPod and put all of that in our hand. No one was willing to do that at the time and everyone was fine with a Nokia or Razor. The tech less durable? What does that even mean? I haven't gotten a virus on my Mac ever and I've owned a Mac for over 5 years and frequent sketchy p--- sites daily. You get what you pay for. iOS is butter smooth and never fails. Android lags, isn't as friendly with third party apps, and just isn't as reliable. Same with Mac OS vs Windows.

    Hey if that's what we needed to advance our tech then so be it. He was a businessman first and foremost. He saw what people didn't know they wanted, and he created that market and turned the company into a $500b powerhouse. We can thank Steve for iTunes, Apps, and more. Just think about that. If it wasn't for Jobs it's possible we still wouldn't know wtf an app is. He created a whole industry for others to profit off of that wasn't there before. I agree though Jobs was the right guy at the right time and he capitalized.
