Jul 17, 2015 I can't remember the reception on SL. The 3rd act was basically Transformers. The only Marvel movies I've liked were Iron Man (2008) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Guardians of the Galaxy was okay. I liked the soundtrack. Haven't seen the Avengers: The Age of Ultron or Ant Man. My opinions are super controversial. Come at me, bro.
Jul 17, 2015 I thought it was a decent movie but there were some issues (the cinematography being the biggest one).
Jul 17, 2015 I didn't like it. I saw it in theatres with a group of friends but came out with zero fulfillment and can't say I can recall anything I enjoyed about the movie. Then again, I don't really f--- with any of the MCU movies.
Jul 17, 2015 what happened in the avengers again? the bad guy did the thing and they stopped him right?
Jul 17, 2015 thought avengers was good but not amazing like everyone i know seems to think it is avengers age of ultron on the other hand was a f---ing stupid mess tho think gotg is overrated due the third act sucking major balls
Jul 17, 2015 I found the first one kinda tedious, the second one was better imo..but a little more of the same
Jul 17, 2015 It starts with this white guy, and the opening sequences sort of establishes his backstory. He spouts one-liners, oozes charisma, and is more built than the average white guy. There are a bunch of dank memes that originate from him. Some are quite funny. There are also side-characters. There is one attractive female character that the lead falls for, and but she is pretty much a blank slate the lead bounces flirtations and jokes off. The lead hero has a good relationship with all of his comrades. Also all of them can be 'funny' when given the opportunity. There's also a villain. He sort of comes and goes whenever the narrative requires his presence. He kinda has a few scenes and lines that vaguely explains his backstory and motivation. But nothing more. And he eventually tries to k--- a bunch of people, including the lead hero. I'm using 'tries' loosely here as he is basically in the movie just to ultimately be a non-threatening punching bag for the hero. Also, the supervillain is played by a good actor. The third act has a lot of explosions, shooting and, generally, things getting destroyed. Other than being assaulted by the usual Hollywood spectacle, you don't feel the tension at all, and the main (good) characters are never in peril, but the stakes are through the roof. I hope the description is good enough. Any idea which MCU genre movie this is?
Jul 17, 2015 sorry the fight scenes were wasted in the final act, and ronan never get's a real showdown with the gotg... and then that cringey f---ing dance off ending instead of a fight. Gay af
Jul 17, 2015 I really liked the rocket/groot relationship.. When Rocket is sitting down crying over Groot and Batista pets and consoles him >>>>>>>>>>
Jul 17, 2015 i liked all that stuff with groot/rocket tho just disappointing as f--- that we didn't get a real fight with the big bad of the movie, like... at all.. and didn't get one with nebula either. and i just cringed during the dance part
Jul 17, 2015 I grew up on Batman: The Animated Series and the Burton movies. Comics have been around since the 30s. It's really not hard to see why. Geek culture is booming.
