Being from NYC, I was always surrounded by Hip Hop, especially Rap and graffiti. I didn't start taking it seriously until 94-95, when I was 9-10 years old. And a huge part of that was my uncle who grew up in the Bronx when Hip Hop was forming and also some cousins from the Bronx who were into what was popping in the 90's. My uncle put me onto older artists and my cousins put me onto the best artists of that era. Even my father would play "Planet Rock" and "Rapper's Delight" in the car when I was a kid.

Why would you listen to Eminem when you are 7? like seriously who even gave you access to it. No one could understand hiphop at the age of 7. I was outside playing football and s---

Obviously i had heard hiphop songs before but i didnt get properly into it until about 13 i had stillmatic and MMLP that my cousin ripped to a CD for me. The i went and got the rest of Nas albums and just anything hiphop i could find on limewire/kazaa with my dial up connection. I dont think SOHH was around then but i got on there fairly early too

8th grade was when I really got into hip hop. All throughout my life my dad would play 90's hip hop and I always enjoyed that. But it was 8th grade when I really ventured out and found artists myself.

I was about 8-9 years old when my uncle used to always bring his hip-hop cds over at our house, he used to always buy me albums as gifts for stuff like my birthday or any big occasion. I took it upon myself to really submerge into the culture around 2006-07, listened to anything that were considered essentials as well as tried keeping up with the new major releases that came around.
