Nov 12, 2015 Underrated would be Relapse i'd assume. Overrated? Idk, SSLP, MMLP, & TES get the most acclaim, but, honestly, they're deserving of the acclaim they get, so i can't say they're overrated.

Nov 12, 2015 Overrated idk maybe The Eminem Show? I think SSLP in a way is the weaker of the first 3 but I never here it praised as much as MMLP and TES. MMLP deserves all the praise it gets but TES doesn't have that same feel. He cut back too much on the style and sound that made MMLP so good. Underrated might is MMLP2 as far as this forum goes at least. It definitely has a couple of songs and a few moments that take away from the album but it still has great highs. When we got Recovery I never thought we'd hear songs like Rap God, Brainless, Evil Twin etc. He might not of followed the true direction of revisiting or making it really sound like the first one but all in all its still a good album from an artist who has nothing left to prove and is just making music for fun.
Nov 12, 2015 Imo it depends on what kind of listeners we are talking about. If it's about Em's fans i'd say MMLP2 is underrated and SSLP overrated. If we are talking about casual listeners/non Em's fans i'd say Relapse is the underrated one but i can't find one album that is overrated. People who don't like Em seem to underrate everything he has released, maybe Recovery given its commercial success.
Nov 12, 2015 I think Recovery is also underrated due to the poppy beats, a few corny tracks and a some pretty basic punchlines and rhymes. But I feel this album had a very strong concept, execution mixed with honest storytelling with elements of rawness which gave this album a relevant place amongst his collection.

Nov 12, 2015 Like someone else said, the SSLP is underrated due to it being overshadowed by the two albums that came after it. Overrated album would be Encore. Accept that it's not good.
