Eminem Encore Eminem vs. ShadyXV Eminem

    Since the release of his follow up to The Eminem Show in 2004, Encore has been widely regarded as Eminem's worst work to date. For years, mindless teenagers with Cheeto stained fingers on message boards complained about the drug-ridden rapper's content, sloppy delivery, and overall lack of creativity displayed in the forgettable Encore album.

    However, just 10 years later, Eminem seems to have hit rock bottom again. Not with drugs, not with his image (RIP Encore do-rag), but with his music. The 42-year-old Hip Hop megastar can't deliver a listenable verse to save his life. The effortless flow that carried Eminem's career from 2004-2007 has now transformed into an off-beat, stop and go, too-fast-to-understand, jumble of meaningless rhyming words. Usually about penises or 10+ year old pop culture references. Combine that with generic poppy instrumentals and bland choruses by Rihanna soundalikes, and you have a perfectly bad MMLP2 throwaway to add to the ShadyXV tracklist.

    So, Section Eighty, who would you rather listen to? Encore Eminem or ShadyXV Eminem?

    I rather listen to Toy Soldiers and Spend Some Time over anything on MMLP2 and Shady XV...but I think the lows of Encore are worse. Just Lose It? Big Weenie? Puke? Mosh? a--- Like That? I dunno. tough choice.

    he might as well be, flow is terrible for the most part - rarely does it work. Vegas is an exception

    Encore Eminem because he was more charismatic and could actually flow on beat. Eminem's rapping wasn't the problem on Encore, it was the writing. On Shady XV it's both more so on the rapping aspect though.

    His voice, delivery, flow, mixing, beats was way better back then, Encore >>>>>

    Half of Encore is not even listenable, but the other half is good to great
    If we got another Encore level album i would just delete the bad songs like i have done with it now

    I think in terms of emotion, Encore Eminem wins hands down but in terms of the Slim Shady persona Shady XV Eminem wins.

    Even though Shady XV has some low points at least there is more energy with this project than Encore

    EDIT: Actually, after listening to a minute of Big Weenie, I've decided it's legitimately more entertaining than most of ShadyXV

    He once did an interview explaining how much he hated SSLP, MMLP since he never rode the beat. From TES onward he became obsessed with it and I think his OCD ruined a lot songs. We lost that carefree "anything goes" Eminem. Now with Shady XV he may finally be going back to that. I'd love it if true. That's what made him great. Ability to change flows in the middle of song like he does on this album.
