Dec 20, 2015 We as people often sacrifice short time choices for ultimate goals. But what are you goals, and what would you like to do/be right now that you may not be doing/being.
Dec 20, 2015 Ultimately I'd like to be putting out albums and living comfortably off the sales and potential shows. That can't/won't happen though for a variety of obvious reasons.
Dec 20, 2015 Why not? Anything is possible. Set goals, work harder than anybody on the planet and good things will happen.
Dec 20, 2015 It's extremely unrealistic. I could put all the hard work in that I want (and I generally put a f--- ton into music), and it still probably won't amount to anything. You either make it in music or you don't, it's not generally up to you. It's not a job you can just pick to work and make money off of it. It's not a traditional field by any means. Even if it were something more realistic to achieve, my music is too niche, I have little to no connections, and don't/can't do shows to get my name out there more. Far as I can tell there's not really much I can do to change any of that and increase my exposure.
Dec 20, 2015 Why cant you do shows? I thought you've talked about people approaching you for that kind of stuff already
Dec 20, 2015 I've had people approaching me since last year trying to get me to DJ at clubs in this area and the Cincinnati area, and I've had to turn them down/ignore them because I literally have no idea how to DJ.
Dec 20, 2015 BRUH LEARN. you talk about no connects but there you go dismissing what you have right there! i would k--- for a chance to perform/make real fans or maybe turn them off because of how bad i am. but either way, the experience is whats crucial. who cares if you go out there and bomb your first set. or your second one.
Dec 20, 2015 I don't know how I'm suppose to do that when it comes to DJing tho lol, and that is the problem. It's not the same as a producer
Dec 20, 2015 but its way to get experience performing live and build connections i DJ with my iphone at parties, doesnt seem too hard
Dec 20, 2015 You can't just go up and start DJing in a club lol. You need experience and know-how first. And that's obviously not the same lol.
Dec 20, 2015 Also @Narsh, even with the know-how I still couldn't DJ properly and probably wouldn't want to. I simply don't listen to or like the music people expect to hear at a club (trap/house/deephouse remixes). I'd also definitely never be able to play my own music too because it doesn't fall anywhere near that stuff. No one's going out to try and dance to a bunch of moody atmospheric downtempo hip hop/dubstep hybrid songs.
Dec 20, 2015 You should play your s--- when you DJ and see how the crowd reacts to it @Cyreides. Wouldn't hurt to try.
Dec 20, 2015 Wanna get better at producing and engineering Take clothing design more seriously Learn Graphic Design
Dec 20, 2015 I bounced back and forth with what I wanna do, especially around the time it was time to commit to a major. I would like to work with kids who get in trouble with the law and just kinda help them get their life back on the path it needs to be. What I'm doing? I took a lot of time off from my goals after my last relationship & numerous loss in the family. Time off kinda dragged me down having too much time in my head while taking care of them first. Finally getting back around to putting the wheels back on that track. Crazy the twists in turns life just throws at ya out the blue like its everyday s---. lol
